Easy Cold Brew with Cinnamon-Topped Whipped Cream

One of the hardest things about being a work at home mom is feeling like I’m not giving my all to both of my roles. I’m at home, but working; so, I can’t devote my time to being around my kids. I’m working, but I’m at home; so, it’s hard not to be distracted if I hear the baby cry or the boys screaming at each other in the basement. Let’s not even talk about the never-ending piles of laundry and dishes that seem to be piled high every day.

All complaints aside, I’m so grateful for the opportunity to be able to further my career while being near my kids. While it isn’t perfect every day, I love that I get to enjoy the best of both worlds. It’s been a few years since I transitioned to my work at home schedule and I’ve managed to be successful with finding balance (most days).

One of the consistent things I try to do is take a break during lunch time or in the afternoon. I take a short break to spend some quality time with the boys. And to re-energize for the rest of my day from my delicious cup of afternoon coffee. I swear the afternoon coffee break is my sanity. I don’t think I can get through the evening hustle and bustle without it.

My favorite drink right now is an easy cold brew drink made with Dunkin’ Donuts® Cold Brew coffee. As an avid coffee lover, I love the rich and smooth taste of the coffee. You can definitely taste the difference of Dunkin’ Donuts Cold Brew coffee packs and the craft brewing method. It’s the perfect coffee drink for the spring season. Here’s an easy recipe for you to enjoy:

What you’ll need:

  1. Place coffee packs in pitcher and add water
  2. Steep in fridge 8-12 hours
  3. Remove coffee packs and add 3 cups of cold water to pitcher (use more or less water for desired strength).
  4. Pour cod brew coffee into your favorite mug or mason jar. Add ice cubes if desired.
  5. Top with whipped cream and a dash of ground cinnamon.
  6. Sip, savor and enjoy!

I picked up my Dunkin Donuts Cold Brew coffee at my local Meijer. There’s currently an mPerks deal, so make sure to stop by your local Meijer store and pick up a box or two to try this easy cold brew coffee recipe for afternoon coffee breaks!

While each day brings something different to my overall routine of workin’ and mommyin’, I love that my job caters to my life of happy chaos with my family. With the passing of time, I’ve realized that I can’t expect perfection in everything and that is absolutely okay. I’m only one person and there is only so much I can get done in a day. Thankfully, I can always count on my afternoon coffee break to bring life back to my day. Especially on those days that I haven’t changed into clothes or put my face on; which happens more often than I’d like to admit! I feel lucky to have the flexibility of a work at home schedule. I’m always learning and adapting, and each passing day is a good reminder that I’m doing the best that I can in both of my roles.
