It’s the most wonderful time of year. And it’s our first Christmas holiday in Simply Every Home! I’m so excited to make new memories and continue our family holiday traditions in our new home.

It goes without saying that making a new house a home takes time. As much as I’d like to be all set up right away, I know that it will be a little while before everything feels complete.

As you guys are probably aware, my home decor style is simple and easy. When it comes to decorating our new house for the holidays, I am keeping both of these at the forefront of my decoration decisions.

Classic Holiday Wreaths

My wreath collection is pretty much non existent. I picked up these simple and classic red and white berry holiday wreaths for our pantry door and our front door. When buying new home decor items, I try to stay with classic designs.

I’m in the process of rebuilding my home decor collection for our new house. So, I want to choose holiday decor items that I know I will reuse for years to come.

I love using Command® Medium Designer Hooks to hang wreaths around the house. It’s easy to use, no tools needed, and makes for easy and simple decorating without any damage to our doors.

Command Designer Hooks hold wreaths (both exterior and interior) up well and I like not having to pull out any of David’s tools to hang things up!

For our front door, I use the Command® Large Designer Hook and leave it up year round. I switch out the wreaths seasonally. It’s a super easy and simple way to decorate your front porch.

Fireplace Mantel Decor

Another easy area to keep decorated for the holidays in our new house is our fireplace mantel. I just cleared out our fall decor and replaced it with some ceramic trees, stocking holders, and garland.

I love the wood trim of the mantel, so I like using a combination of the Command® Medium Designer Hooks and Command® Small Wire Hooks to hang the garland. The clear hooks aren’t visible and I love the damage-free Command® Hooks. I can put them on and off easily without a trace on our mantel.

Kids’ Rooms

We usually set up a small Christmas tree in the boys’ rooms. But, for the new house, I decided to decorate their shared bathroom for the season, too. Most of the wall art around our house are hung by Command™ Large Picture Hanging Strips. It’s so easy to securely hang my favorite pictures and wall art around our home. So I used a couple of the strips to hang this Christmas wall art in the boys’ bathroom.

Simple Lights around the Deck

I usually leave the outdoor holiday decorations up to David. But, I try to help when I can 😉 Aka when using Command™ Outdoor Light Clips make it easy for me to help him with some simple string lights around our deck.

Command™ Outdoor Products can also be used on smooth, sealed and finished surfaces including vinyl siding and fences, doors, windows, decks, gutters and trim.

We used a few on the poles around our deck to securely hang the pretty white Christmas lights all around our deck railing.

Holiday Scented Candles

Another easy to decorate your new house for the holidays is using scented candles in different rooms. Nothing like the smell of pine trees or Christmas cookies to make your new house feel a little bit more like home during the holidays.

Wrap Gifts Early

If you’re on top of things, you can wrap gifts early and use them around the tree and other parts of the house as holiday decor. If you’re like me and put off shopping, then you can also wrap some empty boxes or containers and use them (and reuse them!) as simple and easy holiday decor in your new house.

What are some easy and simple ways to decorate your new house?

Don’t forget to pick up your Command™ Products to make it easy and simple for holiday decorating in your new home!
