Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2019 – What I Bought – Closet Staples and New Items to Buy

I think I say this every year, but I wasn’t planning on doing a post for the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2019. Clearly, I’m not a fashion blogger. But, I do shop the sale almost yearly. Last year was actually the first time I shopped Early Access. It just opened up to Nordstrom Card Holders and I’m literally adding to my cart as I type up this post.

Here’s What I Bought This Year from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2019:

While we are in the middle of a big move, I am taking full advantage of getting rid of all the clothes and shoes I haven’t worn since before I had babies. The purge is so cathartic, but it also means that I’m in rebuilding mode.

For the last year or so, I’ve been in the season of refreshing my mom wardrobe. After spending the previous six years either trying to get pregnant, pregnant, or nursing/breastfeeding, I’m just now getting out of the baby fog stage of life.

I shopped the sale last year with this objective, so my mission this year is to do the same. To keep building my mom wardrobe with all of the essentials with a few, fun items to mix it up a bit.

Here’s What I Bought:

I’ve been eyeing this suede jacket since two years ago? I know for sure they had it last year and was bummed I missed out. So, I finally grabbed it. I bought a faux leather jacket a few months back and surprisingly fell in love with the comfort and versatility. I’m hoping this will be the same addition to my closet.

I love a good pullover/sweatshirt. I bought this Caslon Cozy Print Sweatshirt in both the Camo and Cheetah print. It’s a looser fit, so I opted for my usual size small. Even though, I like to size up in sweatshirts.

I’m good on cardigans from last season, so I snagged two sweaters for the winter. I love this one because of the butt coverage and this one for the looser fit. The neutral color block is super cute. I ordered it in a size XS because it’s a boxier fit and runs bigger than normal. The tunic sweater I ordered in a size small.

I bought these pajamas last year and LOVE them. So I bought the short version and the long pajamas in the gray/white stripe print. They’re SO comfy, like cotton butter on your skin.

I’m in desperate need of a bra drawer refresh. My friends have recommended Natori bras for years, so I finally took the plunge to save my decolletage. (Pun not intended, lol, BFing moms unite.)

As for the shoes, I wasn’t all that impressed with the selection this year. But, I may grab a pair of booties or Uggs if they add them to the sale in the next few weeks. I did buy these OTK boots because I’ve been wanting a pair in this tan/caramel shade with a low/no heel. And I picked up the Converse Shoreline in this pretty blush color. (I have them in dark gray and they’re great when I’m out running around with the boys).

My Closet Staples that I Love from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale:

Last year, I stocked up on my favorite Zella leggings and Madewell Denim jeans. So that’s why I skipped bottoms in my shopping the sale this year. But, for those of you looking to try either of the brands, this is the time to buy. It really is the lowest price you’ll see all season, unless you’re shopping Madewell directly from their site.

Other things that are totally worth the buy are Spanx faux leather leggings. I have the regular and the moto pair and wear them religiously. The quality is amazing, they suck in everything, while keeping me comfortable, and they’re super easy to dress up or down.

I also recommend the pajamas. They’re just SO soft and comfortable. It’s a huge upgrade from my days of wearing my husband’s oversized t-shirts from college. 😉

Another one of my favorite purchases from last year is the Barefoot Dreams Circle Cardigan, so cozy and so, so soft.

I’m working on a post of a few things I’m buying for the boys and D, so I’ll pop back in with that list and update this as the sale goes on.
