When’s the last time you had a date night? Or even just one on one time with your significant other?

It goes without saying that finding ways to spend solo time together takes a bit more effort these days. Even on the nights that we try to set up a date night, 99% of the time we’re completely exhausted and want to stay in!
I’m a firm believer in “dating your spouse,” and we try to make it a priority, even when we’re not feeling up to it or have the resources to make it happen.
We’ve learned throughout the years, that a cozy night in can still be fun. Changing up even the simplest of activities lets us spend quality time together in a completely new way.
Eleven Fun & Easy Ideas for Date Night At Home
Make a Charcuterie Board
This is at least a weekly occurrence for us. I love a good charcuterie board and it pairs so easily with a good bottle of wine. Sometimes, I shop specifically for a date night in and other times we just throw together a mini board with whatever food we have in our fridge.
As soon as the kids are down for the night, we get our “fourth meal” date night ready to go!

DIY Facials
Who has the time or money to go to a spa regularly? You guys know I’m all about simple skincare. I’ve gotten D to join me and we have fun out of our spa date nights.

Our tried and true Bioré® Pore Strips now comes in a new formula with Witch Hazel. Both of us have used Bioré® Pore Strips since high school. The best of all nose strips, Bioré® Witch Hazel Ultra Deep Cleansing Pore Strips use a blend of C-bond technology to safely remove dirt, oil, and blackheads.
It is so cathartic, peeling off the nose strip and seeing the results of super-magnet-like strips that lock out and and lift out deep-down dirt, oil, and EVEN blackheads from your most clogged pores.
I’ve been loving the Bioré® Witch Hazel Pore Clarifying Toner, too. It’s a natural ingredient that is known to tighten pores, purify, refresh and help heal skin. An added layer to clean pores after using our favorite nose strips!

Play Old School Board/Video Games
This might be D’s favorite, but we do game nights with old board games and video games from childhood. Both of us are pretty competitive, so it’s a fun night of getting our game faces on.
Write a Five Year Plan
We typically do this once or twice a year, but love to spend a night writing out our five year plans. We write them separately and like to compare similarities and differences. It’s also fun to see the updates on goals that we’ve reached. It helps motivate both of us to reach the next milestone.
Read Each Other Old Letters/Cards
Nothing like reading old love letters and cards to bring out the ugly cries. We read them aloud to each other and laugh a lot. It’s so much fun to see how much of our wishes for one another have come true in our life together.

Youtube Karoke
Did you know that Youtube Karoke is a thing? Look up your favorite music videos and songs and make a fun night of sing along with your significant other.
Watch Your Wedding Video/Pictures
Another tear-jerker date night! I love going through our old photo albums and videos. The ones of our wedding are especially the best! It’s so fun to relive our favorite memories and jokes from the past.
Dessert Only Dinner
We pick up our favorite desserts from local bakeries and restaurants and make a night of dessert only dinner. Super fun and yummy.
Plan Dream Vacations
We take a night or two to plan out our actual travel for the year. Then we plan / update our dream vacation list. We’re both really big into traveling and it’s an important priority for our family. Our bucket lists are different for local, US and international travel, so it’s fun to plan out and find out information about different parts of the state, US, and countries all over the world.
DIY Canvas Art
We have a ton of art supplies for the kids. Since we can (never) make it out to one of those official paint & wine studios, we recreate it at home. A good bottle of our fave wine, a couple of blank canvases and voila, it’s a simple and easy date night at home! And a new wall art to hang around the house.
Make a Video Time Capsule
Record each other and make one together. Different videos, montages, dance moves, goals, current favorites. Save it away in the cloud for a future date night! Super fun way to capture date night memories!
