In all years past, the cold season has always signaled hibernation mode. No, I’m not talking about bears. I’m talking about my own habits! LOL. The chill of the air always prevented me from stirring up enough motivation to get myself to the gym on a regular basis during the winter.
When we signed up for our gym membership at the start of the year, I realized that it’s all about my mentality and discipline that fuels the regularity of my workouts at the gym. I’m still not where I want to be, but I’m so much more focused on my health. And that has been the driver to making me get to the gym, even on the days that are freezing cold outside.

During the winter, I wear my regular clothes to the gym and change in the locker room. It saves me the discomfort of being cold on my commute to/from the gym. It’s a simple change that makes it easier to get to the gym on cold days.
Because of this, I pack my gym bag differently for each season. I pack my workout clothes and sneakers because it makes more sense to wear my winter parka and boots. On days that I skip the gym, I try my best to get in a quick at home work out.
