I can’t believe it that my oldest will be headed off to Kindergarten so soon! It’s completely surreal and I’m not sure it’ll hit me until we’re in the thick of the morning rush on school days. One of the things that I’m trying to prepare for now is how to get ahead on planning for meals during the school year.
I’m a firm believer that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. I swear this household full of boys is constantly hungry, and I need to make sure that they get their school days started on the right foot.
While it is an important meal, the morning rush is complete chaos in our house. One of the ways that I save time is by preparing quick and easy protein-packed breakfast meals for all of us.
Some of my go-to meals are loved by everyone in this family of five. You know my love for Jimmy Dean® Frozen Breakfast runs deep. Our favorite is the Jimmy Dean® Sausage, Egg & Cheese Croissant. These go pretty quick in our house, so I make sure to stock up on them on my weekly Kroger runs. They’re easy to find in the frozen section, and there’s a coupon out right now if you want to pick up a box (or three!) for your kids too.
The boys love eating their Jimmy Dean breakfast sandwiches with a green smoothie. I usually add in some spinach with an orange, banana or apple. And throw in some frozen fruit, too. It’s the perfect pairing with the protein-packed tasty Jimmy Dean breakfast sandwiches. The best part of it all is that they’re so quick to cook in the morning. It makes our routine run smoothly to say the least.
Another one of my go-to quick & easy protein-packed breakfast meals is egg bites! I love how I can make them in batches over the weekend and freeze them up for the school week. They’re super easy to bake and heating them up in the morning is a breeze.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Crack eggs into bowl and set aside.
Dice peppers, spinach, and Tyson Grilled Chicken into small pieces.
Pour into bowl of eggs and mix together until well blended.
Spray muffin pan with olive oil and pour egg mixture into muffin cups.
Bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes on middle rack.

Tyson Frozen Grilled & Ready Chicken is a great addition to add the extra protein for these delicious egg bites for breakfast. It’s a great way to get some good protein and veggies in for the busy school (or work) day.
