Baby Essentials that You Should (Re)Buy with Each Baby

Most people think that after three babies, baby BOYS to be exact, our house is filled to the brim with ALL of the baby gear. It is true that my husband is more than happy to reuse toys and clothes handed down from each baby. But, there are several baby essentials that I bought new each time. Some are purely because we needed more than one of each item. Others are for hygienic reasons. And of course, a few special purchases for each baby too.

Need tips on your baby registry or baby must haves list? Read below to see my baby essentials rebuy list!

From my first baby to third, I love shopping at our local buybuy BABY store for all of my baby essentials rebuy items. I love their mission to ensure that new and expectant parents have everything they need to confidently welcome their baby and navigate the transitions of life as a family. Even as a third time mom, I love hearing the the latest and greatest about current baby gear from buybuy BABY product experts.

A few weeks ago, D and I stopped by to pick up some of the items on my baby essentials rebuy list for Baby B. Our product expert, Sarah, showed us around the different areas of the store and shared with us some new features and options of products on our list. I love how easy buybuy BABY product experts makes the shopping experience for moms and dads. From answering a million of my questions to showing me different features, Sarah made the entire trip a seamless and carefree experience for this A-type, OCD mama.

Here’s a list of things that I bought for each baby and more information I learned during my recent shopping trip.

1.) Marpac Dohm Sound Machine

This is one of my “can’t live without” baby items. It’s great for baby sleep (and mine!) and it has served us well with all of our babies. The kids can sleep without it, but it helps a lot with noise reduction and signaling bedtime for our older boys. To be honest, I credit the Marpac Dohm Sound Machine as a crucial factor in their good sleeping patterns, even as infants.

While in store, Sarah explained to us some of the changes of the new model Marpac Dohm Sound Machine. She reassured us that it was mostly aesthetic and the sound/noise options are the same as the ones we currently own. So we picked one up for B’s nursery.

2) Bottle Nipples, Brushes, Etc.

I have little to no knowledge about the differences in bottles because I nursed both of my older boys. The few times they were bottle-fed, we used the bottles that came with my breast pump. This time, I am exclusively pumping due to a shallow latch issue. I was so happy to have Sarah run down the list of options and share with us the differences because there are so many brands and so many features with baby bottles!

I picked up some of these bottles below and B loves them both! I like them because they’re easy to clean and assemble between each feeding session.

3.) Bath Tub and Bath Gear

I’m not sure if my husband and I are doing it wrong, but we replaced the infant bath tub with each baby. Whether it was user-neglect or just normal wear/tear, neither of our infant baths lasted beyond each baby. I remember throwing out the last tub after I noticed mold in the corners of the tub. Ew.

I love this new Munchkin tub. We use it on the bathroom counter while A and C are in the big tub. Clean up is because of the elevated seat and we can just drain the tub right away. I remember that the sling baths during the infant stage didn’t work well for us. But, B seems to be comfortable in this tub.

4.) Nose Frida

This is another genius baby essential that I can’t live without. We bought a new one with each babe just for my own sanitation comfort. The Nose Frida is a must have in baby care in our household, especially during our long, winter months.

5.) Seasonal Clothing

A was a winter baby, so I bought a lot of seasonally appropriate clothes for C’s first year. While I reuse a lot more this time around, I bought a few more basics for B too. B and C are both summer babies so I’ll be able to reuse a lot of hand me downs. But, I also bought seasonal clothing that was appropriate with each baby. There’s always just so many new cute things coming out, I can’t resist! And I don’t want everything B has to be a hand-me-down from his big brothers.

6.) Baby Milestones Book

It hasn’t been easy and it’s usually late, but I have special baby milestones book for each of the boys. I’m going to try my best to keep up with it this time using this Lovely Sprouts baby milestones book. I also love their monthly date blocks for his “Watch Me Grow” pictures. I used the belly stickers the last two times and tossed after each use. I love that I’ll be able to keep these around for all three of the boys as they grow into their school-aged years.

In addition to the list above, I (re)bought basic necessities like diapers and wipes. I also bought new hooded towels, wash cloths, crib sheets.
