Simple Steps for Daily Skincare

Need some simple steps for daily skincare? Here’s a few things I do every day to take care of my skin!

These days, I can barely remember if I’m wearing contacts or glasses. Or if I’ve showered in the last 48 hours. I’m adjusting to my new normal as a mama to three babes (and remembering why sleep depravity is used as a torture tactic!). In an effort to take care of myself, I’m trying to stick to my simple steps for skincare. Hopefully, it’s helping me hide the fact that I’m probably not getting enough of sleep these days.

On my good days, I’ve been putting my face on and getting dressed in real clothes (re: not pajamas and nursing gear). But, getting ready also means remembering to take my make-up off at the end of my (long) day. It’s hard to admit it, but I spent the greater part of my twenties, not making it a habit to wash my face before bed every night. These days it’s not the lack of effort to blame, but more the lack of memory. Hello, mom brain!

I love using Olay Daily Facials Cleansing Cloths because not only is it a make-up remover, but it is a 4-in-1 facial cleansing cloth with the power of a scrub, toner, mask and cleanser. The specially textured facial cloths remove dirt, oil and make-up 2x better than basic cleansing. It saves me time and serves so many different needs for every day skincare. The hydrating wipes gently exfoliate your skin. And I’ve already noticed my skin texture is so much smoother after less than a week of using the cloths.

Olay Daily Facials  are super easy to use. All you have to do is wet the cloth with water, rub to lather and cleanse (even around your eyes!) and rinse.  I love that the cloths leave my skin feeling refreshed and provides a better, complete clean than a make-up remover wipe or liquid cleanser.

On my make-up free days, I make sure to apply sunscreen after I use my facial cleansing cloth in the morning. I’ve noticed that using the facial cleansing cloths and applying sunscreen every day is key to maintaining my healthy skin.

While I’m only getting older, I love the fact that my simple skincare routine gives me the confidence to bare my skin with my “no-makeup” face. And even more so, helps maintain my healthy skin on the days that I do wear different make-up products.

It might be a while before I get back to my normal sleep routine, but in the meantime, I know I can stick to my simple skincare routine to keep me feeling refreshed and looking well-rested.

  6. It’s so hard to remember to take your makeup off after a long busy day! I try to be really good about removing my makeup, washing my face, and using a toner, moisturizer, and eye cream, but lately I’ve been so busy it’s been more difficult! I’m sure the wipes help simplify things a lot 🙂

Ironically, this is exactly what I blogged about today. My routine includes cleaning my face and applying eye cream, lip scrub, and face moisturizer. Sounds like a lot, but it’s much simpler than it sounds and involves no make-up!

Not going to lie, when I first began reading your post I thought there would be multiple products–as there usually are in these types of posts. I was pleasantly surprised that it was only one product! I’m low maintenance and so is my best friend so I’ll have to try these out and recommend them to her! Thanks for sharing!
