Mom Life Mantras: Hug the Mess

The two mantras of parenting that I try to live by on the daily is “go with the flow” and “everything in moderation.” As a self-proclaimed A-type OCD personality, this goes against the very nature of my being, but it serves me well in this roller coaster ride of parenting. I’m only four years in, but I know that it is a constant flow of reminders and a-ha moments that repeat itself throughout the cycle of our days.

My boys remind me every day how important it is to find joy in the mundane and to appreciate life’s little moments. From the glee in slurping up the inaugural popsicle of summer to the heartbreak when the last bite melts onto your hands, the beauty in (mom) life is found in those boring (and oftentimes messy) moments of parenting. As a boy mom, I’ve also learned to “hug the mess” of mom life. Because living in those moments with my kids is what’s most important.

Thankfully, I have Huggies Snug & Dry diapers and Huggies One & Done Refreshing wipes in my mama bag of goodies to make it easy to hug the mess! Huggies makes it so much easier to enjoy all of the every day messy moments with my boys. The Snug & Dry diapers now feature Four Layers for reliable, long-lasting protection for up to 12 hours. The One & Done Refreshing wipes are packaged for only one wipe to come out at a time. That means no more waste and no more quick-drying packs. They also are thicker for an ultimate clean! Huggies calms this OCD mama’s heart to hug the mess of mom life! The good, the bad, and the happy chaos in between!

It’s amazing the joy that my boys find in doing the simplest of things. From seeking out adventure and splashing around on their water table, they constantly remind me to laugh often. Their excitement over the little moments of our day to day routine keeps me energized. I feel incredibly blessed to be able to see the world through their eyes. Especially, because it’s with a refreshing outlook on all of the good that is out in the world. I know that as they grow, I will learn more mom life mantras to live by throughout this journey of motherhood.

As we prepare for the arrival of our newest little bundle, I will definitely rely on my mom life mantras. And for each of those that my boys have taught me, I feel more prepared to transition our family to five.

We’re in heavy nesting mode for the arrival of baby brother. I love that Huggies Snug & Dry diapers and Huggies One & Done Refreshing wipes are available at a great value at Family Dollar! On top of their great prices, you can use the Family Dollar Smart Coupon for $2 off Huggies all year long!

  2. I was a huge Type A, anal retentive personality too, especially when I had my first child…can you say STRESS??? I was tracking times, feedings, diapers, etc…and when he wasn’t doing the “norm”, I freaked. But, by 5 months, I had to stop nursing and with that, my walls started to come down. I’m still pretty Type A, but I’m a bit more loose and go with the flow with my kids now.
