Is your husband not Top Chef material? Solidarity sister, mine isn’t either. Read below on how Dinner Thyme is the best way to get your husband to cook!
My husband and I’ve been married for over six years and in that time, we’ve settled into a good routine of household chores and balance. We flex as needed to accommodate each other’s ever dynamic schedules and life’s happenings, but for the most part, we each have our set responsibilities around the house.
Cooking and baking are almost always on my plate. I enjoy it (most days) and I’m good at it. My work from home schedule also allows me the easy access to our kitchen. But, as with most things, sometimes I just need a break! And take-out isn’t always the answer. When Dinner Thyme sent their fully prepped, ready to cook meals that are designed to take 10-15 min from fridge to table, my husband was more than happy to take over and give me a much-needed break!
He is great at many things, but cooking isn’t on top of that list. It’s not that my husband is a bad cook, but it usually takes him twice as long as I do to make a meal. In our daily craze of work and raising littles, we need all the help we can get in the time-saving department. With the prep work done by Dinner Thyme‘s talented chefs, my husband can cook quickly and follow the recipe cards with ease.
For our first meals, D cooked Gnocchi Shrimp and Peas in White Wine Tomato Sauce and Chicken Scarpariello with a side of Garlic Bread in under 30 minutes! Needless to say, I fully enjoyed the break from cooking and he loved cooking the meals with simplicity and efficiency!
We love that Dinner Thyme meals are fresh, familiar, and so, so tasty! The best part is that it saves us time to focus on more important things in life. And seriously, it’s the absolute BEST way to get your non-Top Chef husband to cook! (NO nagging and NO complaining needed! LOL)
Dinner Thyme is also the only meal service company that offers single portions. For someone like me who likes to taste a bit of everything, it’s a great option for a weekly meal service. We love the variety of menu options to choose from and the ones we tried this week were so delicious! The meals tasted better than they look in pictures! Nomnomnom.

What’s the best way you get your non-Top Chef husband to cook?
What a fantastic idea with the bags! This looks delicious!!!
It’s opposite in my house- my husband LOVES to cook and is pretty great at it- I like to cook but would rather go out to eat =) BUT this looks so simple, I could definitely do this! And that meal looks simply delicious!!
We do Blue Apron once a month and it is the only time my husband can cook on his own! They make it so easy!
My husband loves to cook, but this is a great idea for husbands that need a helping hand.
My husband is actually a good cook – he just doesn’t do it! Maybe this system would help!
Love this. Now if only I can get him home from work earlier to get this done!
My husband cooked this gourmet meal for me on our first date, then life happened and he gets home too late so I’m the head chef. This is a great idea!
My hubby loves to cook and I don’t like it so this would be better for me. LOL
This is brilliant! Definitely going to check out this company. ????????
How fun!!! I am the cook of the house (food blogger 🙂 ) so my husband doesn’t cook except for the occasional breakfast. I bet he would totally cook if I gave him something like this. Already prepped food with detailed instructions 🙂 !!! Great post!
This is awesome! He did a great job! The food looks amazing. I have to be honest…I don’t cook! My husband does it all. I wrote about my kitchen adventures on the blog! I don’t know what I would do without him. He is the chef in our home!
What a great idea! This seems to take all the guesswork out of cooking.
The bags, so smart! Thanks for sharing!
This is perfect! My husband works from home now and wants to learn more things he can make at home, besides microwave popcorn. haha.
Whatever it takes to get them to help. I am very lucky my husband enjoys cooking and does a great job.
What a great service! Luckily for me, my husband is a great cooks since he gets home with the kids before me and he always makes dinner. 🙂
What a great idea! I usually just set everything for the next day so that my husband can get it started before I get home.
Oh my goodness this is fantastic! My boyfriend does not like to cook-and would eat frozen chicken and veggies “stir fry” he could heat up in the microwave every night but I would love to have him cook for me- this I know he could do and would enjoy! So excited to try!!
Those meals look delicious! I haven’t heard of this particular service before, but the quality of the ingredients looks great. I love these different meal services and how easy they make cooking a great meal at home!
Yep, I definitely need this in my (my husband’s) life!
I can relate. My husband can do fine in the kitchen but takes a little longer. I know he would love the simplicity of this. I might have to check it out.
I’m so lucky to have a hubby who loves to cook! This meal service however, would come in handy for those not so productive days!!!
OMG! Brilliant! My hubby never cooks/can’t cook so this would be fabulous for him and save me some time too!
I’ve seriously been considering getting one of these subscription services, but I never know which one to check out. This one looks fantastic and then it’ll take a day of cooking off of me.
Look at your hubby!!! That’s awesome! I have to admit, my hubby is better than me in the kitchen, but he’s been wanting to try one of these meals services. We’ll have to do that soon!
I love this idea. My husband would cook if he had all the ingredients right in front of him and good instructions. Thanks for sharing.
Wow! What a great idea! I would love to try these meals and I would really LOVE it if my husband would cook some.
I love it when my husband cooks – it’s kinda cute and he has no idea what he’s doing, but I know he loves trying!
Wow! Looks delicious! I wish my husband would cook for once but he’s the one who grills every time. He claims that is cooking. For me, not so much hahaha.
