The Best Way to Get Your Husband to Cook!

Is your husband not Top Chef material? Solidarity sister, mine isn’t either. Read below on how Dinner Thyme is the best way to get your husband to cook!

Dinner Thyme

My husband and I’ve been married for over six years and in that time, we’ve settled into a good routine of household chores and balance. We flex as needed to accommodate each other’s ever dynamic schedules and life’s happenings, but for the most part, we each have our set responsibilities around the house.

Cooking and baking are almost always on my plate. I enjoy it (most days) and I’m good at it. My work from home schedule also allows me the easy access to our kitchen. But, as with most things, sometimes I just need a break! And take-out isn’t always the answer. When Dinner Thyme sent their fully prepped, ready to cook meals that are designed to take 10-15 min from fridge to table, my husband was more than happy to take over and give me a much-needed break!

He is great at many things, but cooking isn’t on top of that list. It’s not that my husband is a bad cook, but it usually takes him twice as long as I do to make a meal. In our daily craze of work and raising littles, we need all the help we can get in the time-saving department. With the prep work done by Dinner Thyme‘s talented chefs, my husband can cook quickly and follow the recipe cards with ease.

For our first meals, D cooked Gnocchi Shrimp and Peas in White Wine Tomato Sauce and Chicken Scarpariello with a side of Garlic Bread in under 30 minutes! Needless to say, I fully enjoyed the break from cooking and he loved cooking the meals with simplicity and efficiency!

We love that Dinner Thyme meals are fresh, familiar, and so, so tasty! The best part is that it saves us time to focus on more important things in life. And seriously, it’s the absolute BEST way to get your non-Top Chef husband to cook! (NO nagging and NO complaining needed! LOL)

Dinner Thyme is also the only meal service company that offers single portions. For someone like me who likes to taste a bit of everything, it’s a great option for a weekly meal service. We love the variety of menu options to choose from and the ones we tried this week were so delicious! The meals tasted better than they look in pictures! Nomnomnom.

  10. How fun!!! I am the cook of the house (food blogger 🙂 ) so my husband doesn’t cook except for the occasional breakfast. I bet he would totally cook if I gave him something like this. Already prepped food with detailed instructions 🙂 !!! Great post!
