3 Easy & Simple Hairstyles for the Pinterest Fail Mom

Are you here for a step-by-step hairstyle tutorial? Then, this post is not for you.

Haha, seriously though, I told you guys before that I am a self-proclaimed Pinterest Fail Mom. This proclamation goes across all DIY, crafts, as well as most How-Tos and Step-by-Step guides. It doesn’t mean that I don’t have a helpful post for you today! I swear, I do have something that I think the every day mom can use in her daily routine.

I don’t know about you, but I have TONS of hair. Even after two kids and post partum hair loss, I have gobs and gobs of it. The only place I’m MISSING hair is along my hairline, which I now lovingly refer to as “spark plugs.” Please see evidence below.

My hair has been so dry and brittle the last few years. I have so much of it, that I need products that are full of nutrients. Suave Professionals’ Biotin Infusion line is made of B7 Biotin, a vitamin known for superior hair strengthening benefits and reduces breakage by 95%!

img_3036Today, I wanted to share with my fellow PFMs and those who are looking for easy and simple every day hairstyles, that you don’t need to know how to fish tail braid or any of that jazz to feel a little put together on a daily basis. Here are three of my go-to hairstyles, easy to do, straight out of the shower or with day(s) clean? dirty? hair!

The Traditional Bun

This has been my go to hairstyle. Parting my hair down the center helps to keep the Spark Plugs tamed. It’s neat, functional, and a classic look that goes with any outfit from leggings to pencil skirts!

The Messy Top Knot

This is usually my fall back. Since I chopped off 10+ inches of hair last Spring, I haven’t thrown my hair up in a messy top knot regularly. But, my hair is finally growing long enough for me to messy top knot it! WOOT. This is a Pinterest Fail Mom – proof hairstyle. Use one ponytail holder, grab all of your hair in one high ponytail and weave your hair through and out. No directions, it’s supposed to look messy!

The Half-Up Top Knot

Okay, so I’m not going to lie, this one is me trying to be trendy. Haha. Yes, I’m totally laughing out loud right now. I just tried this on a whim since it’s just a spin on my other two styles. And I have plenty of hair left over for the “half-down” part. It works and it gives me another option to add into my repertoire of hairstyles that don’t need heating elements.

And there it is, my non step-by-step tutorial for everyday hairstyles for moms and women everywhere!

What your go-to daily hairstyles? How do you deal with postpartum hair loss?

  24. These are great and you are beautiful! I probably wear my hair in a messy bun 5 days of the week. I go for a more classic bun for my ballet class twice a week. I tend to rock the half bun for my weekend job because it keeps my hair out of the way but still looks trendy enough for retail. I love that you highlighted my favorite looks. Great job!
